Ceramic Artisan
Aneta Ratusniak Silva, ceramic sculptor. My journey with ceramics started in 2006 when I have done my first ceramic course in Brighton. In 2007 I have done another course in Brazil with Japanese artist Keiko Mayama and continued working with different art media over the next 7 years living there. I explored making sculptures with resin, styrofoam, and even tires. Painting with acrylics and watercolors is also my passion. In 2014 I moved back to England and had done Ceramic Sculpture Techniques course at Sussex Down Collage. Later on I continued working with clay under the guidance of Graham Matthew in his Clay Workshop studio in Eastbourne. From 2016 until today I make sculptures as an independent artist in my home studio or in the Eastbourne Studio Pottery in Eastbourne

My inspiration comes from observation of nature and learning about social science, philosophy, archetypes and spirituality. Having the opportunity of living in different countries around the world (such as Poland, Brazil, and England) enriched me and helped me to understand and compare different social behaviors of living things.
Inter-connections
As humans, we live in constant movement and a never-ending process of change in our inner and outside world. Living in societies we create co-dependent and dynamic relationships with our families, friends, co-workers, and the rest of the world. The same process happens in nature, between micro-and macro-organisms. From the world of bacterias creating their colonies to the mesmerizing dance of expending, crushing, and speeding through the universe galaxies and gravitational, electromagnetic waves that coordinate and create patterns. My works are directly connected with those thoughts, and elements surrounding us and they are my humble attempts of trying to register them and stream their movement to the clay as a form of expression of the moment.
In my artwork, I'm trying to recall those inter-connections and make us remember that in this relative chaos exists relative order. Vicious circles, waves of emotions, crushing each other nations, ideologies, and religions are just reflections of what is happening in nature constantly.
Searching for connections, deeper meanings, releasing emotions, translating thoughts into figures, and shapes. That's my journey.
